Pantodium: our “skin biotech” active ingredient, which has already won four awards,

stimulates the skin and scalp's natural production of vitamin B5

Cosmetic innovation is no longer just about delivering active ingredients to the skin. Today, advances in biotechnology are paving the way for a new approach: helping the skin and scalp naturally produce the molecules they need. This is the concept CODIF TN calls Skin Biotech.

This is exactly the promise of Pantodium, a biotechnological active ingredient obtained through a marine fermentation process. Unlike conventional ingredients that directly supply vitamin B5, Pantodium works by targeting the skin microbiota to stimulate the natural production of this essential vitamin.

This biomimetic approach literally transforms the skin and scalp into a true "Skin Biotech Factory", capable of producing its own vitamin B5 according to its physiological needs.

What is the origin of Pantodium?

Pantodium is an active ingredient developed from Codium tomentosum, a green marine algae.

Its uniqueness lies in its fermentation process.

Rather than using a simple algae extract, CODIF reproduced the natural functioning of the marine ecosystem by fermenting Codium tomentosum with a marine bacterium naturally associated with this algae (part of its holobiont).

This fermentation process generates metabolites that are significantly more bioactive than those found in a conventional algae extract.

Why is fermentation so valuable?

In nature, algae live in symbiosis with a wide range of microorganisms.

These bacteria naturally produce enzymes that break down the algae's complex molecules into biologically active compounds.

Without this fermentation step, a conventional Codium extract would not be able to stimulate the skin's natural production of vitamin B5.

Vitamin B5 is well known for its multiple benefits. It helps to:

— Strengthen the skin barrier and hair fiber.
— Improve hydration.
— Soothe sensitive skin.
— Support epidermal repair.
— Improve the overall appearance of the skin.
— Reduce seasonal hair loss.

In summary

This innovative approach opens a new chapter in skincare, where the goal is no longer simply to deliver active ingredients, but to help the skin unlock its own biological potential. By acting on the microbiota, Pantodium represents a new generation of biotechnological actives capable of stimulating the skin's and scalp's natural biological mechanisms.
