Cultivated in photobioreactors where it is repeatedly exposed to severe oxidative stress using hydrogen peroxide, Rhodella stimulates its intra-cellular defences and reacts by producing a protective exopolysacchardide. Special concentration methods are the used to produce DETOXONDRIA.
